Finding Your “Why”

A few weeks ago, I was spending time with my dearest family and closest friends in a sailboat on the lake. We swam, listened to our favorite music, had great food, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. I was happy. It was where I wanted to be. At the same time, my money simultaneously was making me more money. Everything felt right. I got here because I figured my why. It was spending time with my family, friends, and making money while I wasn’t working. My why was how I got to where I am.

Here’s what I’ve learned about the importance of knowing your why. According to Simon Sinek, writer and TED speaker, there is something out there called the Golden Circle. It comprises of 3 parts from biggest to smallest: the what, the how, and the why. The Golden Circle is something he ties in with businesses. He states that most businesses start with “the what,” which is what they do to achieve their goal or get what they want. To Sinek, that is a big mistake. He states that you must start with the why. “Why do you get out of bed in the morning? What drives your fuel? Once you find out why, you’ll know how and what to do.” I couldn’t agree more. First, you must find your passion, then you figure out how to do it, then what to do; not the other way around.

I have a challenge for you: find you why. What drives you? What are you passionate about? Is it spending time with your family? Going on countless shopping sprees? Sailing on a boat? Whatever it is, find your why, then figure out the how and what to get there. I bet you’ll come to see that real estate investing has a great chance to get there. ApartmentVestors wants to fuel your why. To learn more, sign-up for a personal consultation: http://apartmentvestors.com/portfolioconsultation.
